MAG524w3 Linux set-top box with 4K capability and HEVC support

Infomir’s fifth-generation MAG524w3 IPTV set-top device flawlessly plays 4K HDR content at 60 fps. Moreover, the device features HEVC support which allows high-quality video content playback even where the Internet speed is poor.

At the heart of this device is an advanced Amlogic S905X2 chipset featuring a quad-core ARM Cortex-A53 CPU. Together, these allow MAG524w3 to run at up to 18,400 DMIPS. Moreover, the unit features 1 GB RAM and 4 GB internal storage.

Amazing audio possibilities are provided by eight-channel Dolby Digital Plus™ support – simply connect MAG524w3 to a compatible TV or audio system to enjoy immersive surround sound.

Connection to the Internet is taken care of by a 100 Mbit/s Ethernet port or integral dual-band Wi-Fi module (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz). Data transfer speeds of up to 550 Mbit/s are possible with the wireless connection.

USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports not only allow keyboards, mice, and other peripherals to be connected, but they also allow content playback from external storage devices.
